Four Roses Single Barrel #2 & #3
Jat embarked on a second trip to the Four Roses distillery, this time to pick out two Single barrels. The first one, a 100 proof Single barrel and the second one at Barrel Strength (which we now know to have been bottled at 126.5 proof!)
The first one, which came into the store on November 25, 2013, yielded 210 bottles! This whiskey is a Single barrel, 100 proof, aged 8 years and 4 months, from an OBSV recipe of 35% Rye Mashbill. With a fruity, spicy nose, this full bodied bourbon is fruity with a delicate and long, lingering finish.
Barrel Strength coming soon!!
*Special promotion: Buy two bottles of the Single Barrel and receive a hard copy of Four Roses "The Return of a Whiskey Legend" coffee table book, free! (While supplies last)
Angel's Envy Blended Bourbon
Jat and Amarish tasted three different bourbons that were finished in port barrels for 4-6 months after which they decided the percentage of each that would go into this bottle. This resulted in a smooth and soft mouth-fill giving way to a creamy caramel finish with a hint of spice.
Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon
They've done it again! After the success of the Four Roses Bourbon, Jat and Amarish went back to Kentucky on May 30, 2013 where they hand-picked a 5 year old Old Forester bourbon. This bourbon with singular expression of honey caramel notes and a hint of spice has a elegantly dry finish. You are bound to be blown away with this limited edition bourbon. Dekalb Bottle House was one of the first stores in Georgia to carry a hand-picked Old Forester. We only have 240 bottles so be sure to come in and gets yours soon as they sell fast! All purchases include a raffle ticket to win the barrel from which the bourbon was bottled.
Four Roses Bourbon
Over the past year, Jat (owner), and manager Amaraish have developed a profound appreciation for Bourbons and Whiskeys, following on the back of his fondness of single-mault scotches.
Back in early February, the two embarked on a trip to good ole' Louisville, Kentucky to visit the Four Roses distillery and warehouse at Cox Creek. There, they tested through five single barrels of Four Roses Bourbon. After a arduous process of elimination, they settled on a single barrel (barrel #5) which was then bottled specifically for Dekalb Bottle House at 100 proof. The barrel yielded 192 bottles, all of which were proudly sold in a four weeks!
As an added promotion, the customers who purchased a bottle of bourbon were entered into a drawing to win the actual barrel from which the bourbon was bottled.
Due to the tremendous success of this first barrel program, we intend to follow with barrels from other distilleries in the near future!
